Humble Manufacturing Company Ltd was established in 1949 by Ralph Humble. Formerly a technician working with the British Columbia Telephone Company, Mr. Humble had a background in telecommunications, electronics and sheet metal. Originally based in a small wooden building, the company designed & built mobile radio-telephones and similar equipment. The company quickly grew adding employees and equipment. In 1965 the company moved to a much larger premise at the corner of Second & Pine Street in Vancouver. Soon thereafter the company discontinued the electrical and assembly side of the business to concentrate solely on the sheet metal operation.
In 1968, Humble purchased a “Whitney 637 Panelmaster” which was the first NC Punch Press of its kind in Vancouver. Continuing to grow and to become more centralized in the Greater Vancouver area Humble moved again in 1988 to its current location at 3331 Ardingley Avenue in Burnaby. Since then the company has added state of the art CNC machinery and continues to be one of the leading suppliers of sheet metal components in the Vancouver area. |
